Since the last post and now after the second treatment...

It only got better and better after the third and fourth day following the first chemo with a small house party and dinner for 12 that weekend. By the second week after, Richard chainsawed down three trees in half an hour to make way for our track behind the new walled garden and then, the day before his second chemo treatment, he swam 60 lengths!

The second chemo at The Marsden on Tueday, Nov 9th went equally well with lots of visitors coming in to chat. By the third night on Thursday, which is when things seem to peak for Richard, he was feeling pretty rough, not so much from nausea but from pain in his chest and recurring hiccups which aggrevated it. These, after a fearful few hours, subsided and have not returned. By Saturday he was able to attend lunch and then a dinner party for eight that night. Being Richard, he had also scheduled a lunch party for 14 the following day and I must say, he sailed through it effortlessly. I have decided that hosting people is Richard's medicine and seems as important as the tablets he has to take twice a day. No joke!

He looks great, is eating regularly and his spirits are good. Of course there are bouts of tiredness and quite alot of profound reflection going on, silently and alone. All this, amidst a huge number of wonderful, loving and encouraging communications from all over the planet!

So many people have sent supportive internet links, books, articles and personal anecdotes about their own and friends experiences with cancer. This outpouring is motivated by love and has a most profound effect. So thank you to everyone for that!

My sense is that the tumour is shrinking as it is supposed to and, of course I'm envisioning it getting smaller and smaller and being replaced with healthy tissue. Several people have mentioned an interest in setting up a prayer circle for Richard...in fact an old friend who is a medical Doctor suggested it...so I'm going to ask that anyone interested holds Richard in their conciousness, seeing him whole, complete, and at peace every day at his normal bedtime, 22:30 GMT but especially on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday December 1, 2 and 3 after his third chemo. It's alot to ask so don't worry if it's intermittent or at all, or at different times as I believe ultimately,  loves' energy goes beyond time and space and you're already doing it...but scientific studies show that concentrated conciousness does have a measurable effect!

Please forgive me if anyone has posted comments which I haven't responded to. Some people have said that they tried and were not able to. My computer skills are such that I'm lucky to get this update online! I haven't even tried to see any comments but promise I will! If anyone wants to just comment via email (rigtrae@aol.com) you are welcome to!
